Job Number: 80111 Valley Venture Mentors (VVM), Western MA's leader in entrepreneurship training and community building, seeks a mission-driven, entrepreneurial and focused Vice-President of Operations to join its senior leadership team. The Vice-President of Operations will have a crucial role in impacting the quality and outcome of programs for startups, VVM staff and the larger VVM community through operational best practices, including financial stewardship and planning, legal compliance, management of facilities, human resources and information technology functions and implementation of continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities include:

  •  In collaboration with a shared CFO, development of accurate financial projects and reports; timely and accurate execution of all financial activities including payroll, audits, etc.; oversight of cash flow and AP/AR. 
  •  Leadership of human resources activities for the organization, including development of programs and activities to support VVM's unique and exciting culture; hiring, supervising, training and retaining employees and interns; policy development/implementation and benefits management.
  • In collaboration with the CEO, develop analysis of growth for business operations and capacity building.
  •  Management of all information technology operations in collaboration with staff and contractors, including web-based applications/sites.
  • Quality assurance, continuous improvement and data management strategies developed and conducted with senior team.
  • Administration of all compliance, including reporting (funders, state and federal entities), human resources and legal activities.
  • Oversight of operations related to facilities' resources, design and systems to support efficiency and optimal results.

Qualifications include:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated success in operations and finance, a strong commitment to VVM's mission, an innovative, strategic approach to operational assessment and management, and enthusiasm for building the impact and capacity of VVM. Ability to provide results-oriented, supportive management style as well as sense of humor, "roll up your sleeves" orientation and creativity to positively contribute to VVM's unique culture preferred. A mix of non-profit and private sector experience, knowledge of entrepreneurship a plus.
